How To Play Casinos Players Leaderboards Results Schedule Your Profile

Heartland Poker League Rules

  1. Awarding points. Heartlandpokerleague.com will be the official medium for tracking HPL results, points, and standings. The host casino is responsible for reporting tournament results on a weekly basis, verifying all player information, and keeping back-up records. Players may make changes/corrections to personal contact information on the website. Any disputes over points or results of tournaments taking place at a participating casino should be taken up with the participating casino who will work with HPL to verify results and standings.

  2. Forfeiting Points. If a player does not sign the registration/release form, the player forfeits the points to that tournament and cannot be awarded the points for that tournament at a later time. Points are not transferable to another player.

  3. Lost Results. It is the host casino’s responsibility to keep a record of all tournament results. If results are not entered on the HPL website or lost as a result of technical difficulty, the host casino’s records will be used to update the website. If the host casino loses the results of a particular week, the host casino will have the option to schedule a make-up tournament.

  4. Points Payout. All players that participate and fill out a registration/release form will have the option to receive points. Points are base on a formula that takes into consideration your finish, the number of players, and the buy-in. A point chart is available at www.heartlandpokerleague.com

  5. Tie brackers. In case two or more players tie in points to win a specified prize, the player with the most 1st place tournament finishes will be the winner. If players tie for number of 1st place finishes, the player with the most 2nd place finishes will win and so-on until a winner is determined. If no winner can be determined using this method, the prize will be split between the tying players as fairly as possible.

  6. Chopping. Chopping a prize pool at the final table is allowed at the discretion of the host casino but chopping of points is not allowed. The results given to HPL must have one person awarded 1st place, one for 2nd, and so-on. If players decide to “chop” a particular prize pool, the event must be completely played to one winner. Only authentic cashes and points consistent with the chronology of the tournament will be posted.

  7. Playing multiple Leagues. A player can play in as many Leagues as they wish, but points are not transferable for one league to another.

  8. Tournament Operation. Host casinos will follow the HPL point structure. All other direction, operation, and decisions of the tournaments are the sole authority of the host casino.

  9. Televised National Championship Release. f you are awarded a seat into the televised national championship you will be asked to sign a Heartland Poker Tour release form before participating. If you are unwilling to sign this form, you will forfeit your seat and no compensation will be offered. To receive a copy of the form, contact mark@heartlandpokerleague.com

  10. Transfer of National Championship Seat. Seats into the Televised National Championship are transferrable under unique circumstances but must be approved by the host casino. Examples may include: illness or death in the family, winning multiple seats, or if the player is underage to play at the casino that is hosting the championship. No cash compensation will be offered by HPL or the host casino if a player is unable or unwilling to play.
